Position Description:

The Hazardous Materials Technician/ Environmental Health Technician III will collect, assess, segregate, and transport hazardous materials and waste from university generators to the university’s Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF). Perform the day-to-day operations of the TSDF. Assist the Environmental Programs and Facility Coordinator in ensuring compliance with applicable EPA federal, state, and local regulations including but not limited to RCRA, Title V Air Permit, Brownfield Properties, and MSD Stormwater requirements. Act as an emergency responder for hazardous materials emergencies at the University.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s Degree in a field of science or a related field and two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience OR Bachelor’s degree and no experience required.  Candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment physical prior to hire. Valid driver’s license and must be insurable under the University’s policy to drive vehicles. Grade 4 (Hourly)
