The Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) has relaunched its companion enterprise, The IHMM Foundation – Friends of the Institute.
IHMM creates, maintains, and delivers some of the world’s premier professional credentials to advance the global environmental, health, and safety communities of practice.
The IHMM Foundation – Friends of the Institute, is our enterprise supporting critical aspects of being an IHMM certificant and the companies for which they work.
Reaching over 180,000 key decision makers and leaders in the EHS communities of practice is what IHMM and the IHMM Foundation provide.
WHERE WE FOCUS OUR ENERGY
Professional Development
The Foundation engages the world’s foremost education and training resources, aggregates them on the Professional Development platform, making it easy and convenient for certificants to find programs that align with their credential(s) blueprints. Finding and vetting programs and reaching agreements with outstanding vendors of these programs for delivery on our Foundation is our highest priority in support of our credential holders.
Networking
The Foundation has created COLLABORATION, the strongest networking platform available that allows thousands of our members and certificants to collaborate as they are in all 50 U.S. states and 85 other countries. COLLABORATION creates a strong sense of community where we share knowledge, experience, best practices, and exclusive content.
Digital Badges
In 2025 we are adding digital badges to our support of both certificants and our Foundation partners. Having an exclusive IHMM Foundation Partner badge means instant recognition for your company and its approved marketing efforts within our IHMM communities of practice.
Discounted Advertising
As an IHMM Foundation Partner, you receive discounted advertising rates to promote your products and services. Your products and services are highlighted weekly in our electronic newsletter, IHMM Today or bi-weekly in EHS Professional, reaching over 80,000 people through the highest quality list curated weekly. Your products and services can also reach those in our COLLABORATION networking platform or on IHMM social media channels.

Scholarships – Giving Back
The IHMM Foundation has an annual $32,000 Dr. John H. Frick Memorial Scholarship program you can become associated with through your support. Each year we provide scholarships to the nation’s leading undergraduate and graduate students seeking a future in the EHS communities of practice.

Tax Status
IHMM Foundation is a 501(c)(3) under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) and is a private foundation under IRC §509 (a). Those who make contributions to the IHMM Foundation may deduct them under IRC §170. Our IRS determination letter is here. Please consult your tax adviser on the specific deductibility of your donation to HMS.
