For Academic Year 2026-2027
The scholarship program of the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM) supports students enrolled full-time in IHMM-approved degree programs. Scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming academic year to aid the advancement of professions involved with hazardous materials management as well as environment, health, and safety [EHS].
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must have attained status as a Student/Certified Hazardous Materials Manager [ST/CHMM®] or a Student/Associate Safety and Health Manager (ST/ASHM®)
If you are not an IHMM Student ASHM or an IHMM Student CHMM – STOP HERE – as you are not eligible to apply for the IHMM Scholarship
- A full-time student who will be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate degree program that is an IHMM-approved hazardous materials management or safety, health, and environmental (SH&E) degree program
- Must be in good academic standing in the IHMM-approved degree program (at least a 0 GPA in the most recent semester, as well as maintaining a 2.0 cumulative GPA)
- Applicant must have at least one full academic year remaining at the time of the application deadline
- Demonstrate a desire to enter the hazardous materials management or safety, health, and environmental professions upon graduation
- Must have attained status as a Student/Certified Hazardous Materials Manager [ST/CHMM®] or a Student/Associate Safety and Health Manager (ST/ASHM®)
- Submit a completed application and all required documentation by the deadline of October 1.
Awards
Scholarship funds may be applied toward tuition, school fees, and/or required textbooks.
All applicants will be notified by early November of the scholarship committee’s decision, and scholarship funds will be distributed to winning applicants by no later than November 30.
