Items are packaged in a form intended or suitable for retail sale to consumers for the purposes of personal care or household use. \n\nAerosols (generally not larger than 17 oz)\nFlammable Liquids not larger than 1 gallon per bottle/can\nCorrosives\, generally not larger than one quart\nFinished packages of the above substances not more than 30 kg (66 lbs)\n\nUpon completion of this course attendees will be able to: \n\nIdentify the relationship between Title 49\, Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR)\, the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations and the IMDG Code.\nKnow shipper and operator responsibilities.\nIdentify the nine classes of hazardous materials.\nSelect a proper shipping name.\nChoose the appropriate packaging\nProperly mark and label packages\nComplete shipping papers when required for Limited Quantities and Consumer Commodities using 49 CFR\, IATA and IMDG.\n\nSecurity Awareness Training is included with this online course. \nMaterials Required: When beginning the course follow onscreen prompts to download and print the student workbook. DESCRIPTION:IATA Training for Freight Forwarders. This training focuses on Dangerous Goods Acceptance and Transport from a transportation intermediary standpoint and does not cover classification or inner packaging selection in detail nor does it cover Radioactive Materials or Bulk Packaging. \nIf a shipment is prepared according to the international regulations and meets a few additional requirements it may also move by highway or rail before or after air or ocean transport. The program covers the requirements unique to the US by reviewing the US Variations\, placarding and segregation. This meets the required function specific training requirements of the US DOT. If a forwarder is sending a package by highway transport only\, they would also need 49CFR training. \nThis training is best suited for recurrent training for those with previous certification and experience with the IATA DGR. \nEstimated time to complete the IATA Freight Forwarder course is 8 to 12 hours. \nThis course includes Security Awareness Training.  \nMaterials Required: When beginning the course follow onscreen prompts to download and print the student workbook. DESCRIPTION:Who should take this course? Individuals who are involved in shipping only excepted lithium batteries by highway\, air and ocean transport. This course may be taken by those needing Initial or Recurrent training. This class is for shippers who only ship excepted Lithium Batteries. \nThis course covers: Excepted Lithium Batteries identified as “small” cells and batteries. Small lithium batteries will be covered for ground\, air and ocean transport. “Medium” cells and batteries will be covered for highway only. \n\nSmall lithium batteries – excepted from most of the transport regulations\, by all modes\, if properly packaged. In most cases marking will be required. For air transport\, if a package containing small lithium batteries exceeds certain limits\, it will become a fully regulated\, Class 9 shipment.\nMedium lithium batteries – domestic shipments by highway and rail are excepted from most of the transport regulations\, if properly packaged and marked.\nIn some cases additional marking will be required. Medium batteries shipped by air or ocean are fully regulated as Class 9 materials and must meet all of the regulatory requirements. The Fully Regulated Lithium battery course will be required.\nLarge lithium batteries – fully regulated as Class 9 materials by all modes of transportation. You will be required to take the Fully Regulated Lithium Battery course if you ship Large Lithium Batteries.\n\nPlease note the terms “small”\, “medium” and “large” are not used in the regulations. 49CFR contains “Exceptions for smaller cells and batteries” which include those we are categorizing as small and medium. DESCRIPTION:This course covers: Fully Regulated and Excepted Lithium Batteries for ground\, air and ocean transport. Small\, Medium and Large batteries will be covered. \n\nSmall lithium batteries – excepted from most of the transport regulations\, by all modes\, if properly packaged. In most cases marking will be required. For air transport\, if a package containing small lithium batteries exceeds certain limits\, it will become a fully regulated\, Class 9 shipment.\nMedium lithium batteries – domestic shipments by highway and rail are excepted from most of the transport regulations\, if properly packaged and marked.\nIn some cases additional marking will be required. Medium batteries shipped by air or ocean are fully regulated as Class 9 materials and must meet all of the regulatory requirements.\nLarge lithium batteries – fully regulated as Class 9 materials by all modes of transportation.\n\nPlease note the terms “small”\, “medium” and “large” are not used in the regulations. 49CFR contains “Exceptions for smaller cells and batteries” which include those we are categorizing as small and medium. DESCRIPTION:Who should take this course? Choose this course if ALL of your inner packaging (i.e. a bottle) are 30 mL (1 oz) or less and the total gross weight of the package is 29 kg or less. There are some additional restrictions under IATA (Air) such as a total volume limit per package of one pint to one liter or less\, but in general\, if you never ship anything larger\, this may be the only training you need.
