SUMMARY:OSHA Hazard Communication Standard
DESCRIPTION:Please note: It is recommended that users complete the Hazmat General\, Safety and Security Awareness Training course or an equivalent course before taking this course. \nDuration: Approximately 2.5 – 3 Hours \nCourse Description: \nOSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard or HCS is a vital safety regulation that is based on the United Nation’s Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals or GHS. As of 2012\, the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) is now aligned with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS). \nAccording to 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)\, if your company handles chemicals in the work area\, you must provide employees with training about the hazards in their workplace. This course will help provide you with the knowledge and oversight that you need to understand the GHS System and how it relates to the HCS. You will also learn how it applies across the globe and what impact it might have on your operations. \nThis course covers: \n\nAn introduction to the GHS/HCS HazCom regulations and the standards upon which these requirements are based\nClassification of physical hazards\nClassification of health hazards\nLabels\, safety data sheets and training requirements\n\nRegister at the weblink at right >>>

SUMMARY:Elevating EHS Leading Indicators: From Defining to Designing Webinar Recording
DESCRIPTION:Course Description:\nWhile there’s no “holy grail” of leading indicators\, there is a practical approach that organizations can use to elevate their metrics. Presenters will provide participants an overview of the concepts behind a truly practical approach to EHS leading indicators\, as well as specific sample metrics and case studies all organizations can put to use at the site\, business unit\, and/or corporate level. Combining a user-friendly\, easily-communicated framework with real-world evidence\, we provide answers to long-standing questions that will enable attendees and their organizations to develop – and sustain – the leading indicator initiatives they need to achieve world-class EHS excellence. This investigation of the common best practices in leading indicator development and tracking will enable organizations just embarking on their leading indicators journey\, as well as those striving for sustained excellence alike. \nWhile one size does not fit all when it comes to leading indicators\, research conducted by the Campbell Institute at the National Safety Council has shown that robust leading metrics do share common critical characteristics. What’s more\, these indicators can be classified into a taxonomy of specific categories and metrics that helps all organizations better conceptualize their implementation\, use\, and iteration. This research\, involving organizations in diverse industries worldwide\, also indicates that there are many similarities in the enabling factors that drive the effective use of leading indicators – as well as similarities in the barriers to their implementation. \nAs the next phase in this long-term ongoing study\, EHS executives and experts from Campbell Institute Member organizations have shared a wealth of practical leading indicator information – focused on how to design\, dig in\, implement\, and iterate world-class metrics programs. Taken together\, these numerous years of mixed-method research\, including expert workgroups\, surveys\, case studies\, and quantitative and qualitative analysis\, have led to the development of a practical guide and thought map of world-class EHS leading indicators\, with proven lessons learned around defining\, aligning\, refining\, and designing programs that truly work. \nLearning Objectives:\nUpon completion\, participants will be able to: \n\nDefine leading indicators\nExplain how they are essential to EHS management system success\nIdentify the enablers of and barriers to proactive leading indicator implementation\nCite the three categories of leading indicators and the specific indicators that fall under each category\n\nThis is a 1-hour online course \nRegistration link at the right >>> \nIHMM certificants get 10% off the non-member price of the products we have entered: IHMM202326 \nAIHA

SUMMARY:Excepted Quantities (49CFR/IATA/IMDG)
DESCRIPTION:Who should take this course? Choose this course if ALL of your inner packaging (i.e. a bottle) are 30 mL (1 oz) or less and the total gross weight of the package is 29 kg or less. There are some additional restrictions under IATA (Air) such as a total volume limit per package of one pint to one liter or less\, but in general\, if you never ship anything larger\, this may be the only training you need. (Ground\, Air & Ocean shipments) This course may be taken by those needing Initial or Recurrent training. \nThis course is also very good as an add-on course to give you additional function specific training in this topic. \nMaterials Required: When beginning the course follow onscreen prompts to download and print the student workbook. \nSecurity Awareness Training is included with this online course. \nAre any additional training courses required? \n\nFunction Specific Training – As long as you are not in a position where you have to read and interpret the regulations or determine compliance or acceptance\, this course is sufficient for those workers following instructions and just handling shipments of Dangerous Goods.
