SUMMARY:Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Flight Operations Personnel and Flight Dispatchers (e-learning)
DESCRIPTION:If you ship dangerous goods by air on either passenger or cargo airlines\, you must comply with ICAO/IATA’s requirements. Although the ICAO Technical Instructions are the legally binding document for shipping dangerous goods by air\, the majority of the world’s airlines use the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations which fully reflect all of the provisions found in the ICAO TI’s. The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations require that employees involved in shipping dangerous goods receive training (IATA DGR 1.5). This interactive online course meets the minimum training requirements specified in the IATA DGR for employees shipping and handling dangerous goods. You MUST have a copy of the IATA DGR – 61st Edition to complete this course. Duration: Approximately 4 hours \nWho should take this course:\nThis course is ideal for operations-level employees (IATA Categories 2\, 4\, and 5) who package\, mark\, label and document air shipments. Additional training is required to meet the U.S. DOT’s “function-specific” and general awareness training requirements for ground shippers. \nCourse Objectives:\n•What dangerous goods are and how they are classified\n•What training is required and why\n•How the IATA DGR (61st edition) applies in various countries and with various airlines\n•How to pack\, mark and label items in accordance with the IATA DGR 61st Edition\n•How to correctly document dangerous goods shipments\n•Safety and security provisions \nRegister at the link at right >>

SUMMARY:Mitigation Through Decontamination PDC Recording
DESCRIPTION:This PDC will cover issues with the decontamination of hazardous materials. In order to protect responders and the public\, it is essential that the hazardous materials do not travel from the expulsion zone. The contamination reduction zone is where the decontamination process occurs and where it is necessary to control exposure. The course will cover: 1) what decontamination is; 2) different decontamination techniques for chemical\, biological\, and radiological contaminants\, etc.; 3) real-world case studies to show issues and lessons learned; and\, 4) unique considerations for special populations. Special populations are those individuals considered to have functional and access needs and require special circumstances for undergoing the decontamination process efficiently.  This is a 3.5-hour online course. \nLearning Outcomes \nUpon completion\, the participant will be able to: \n\nIdentify the correct decontamination techniques for the CBRN agent or TIM.\nDevelop a decontamination plan.\nMake contaminant collection and disposal decisions.\nDetermine the challenges to protecting responders/the public when conducting decontamination during an emergency response.\n\nPresenters:\nRichard Tom\nKaren Jones \nRegister using the website link at the right >>>\nIHMM certificants get 10% off the non-member price of the products we have entered: IHMM202326\nAIHA

SUMMARY:PLAN201-SI: Applying Technical Factors for Area Designations
DESCRIPTION:This course is intended for learners who have several years of experience with air quality planning and have general knowledge about area designations\, but have not yet applied their knowledge to analyze the technical factors that are typically used as part of the area designations process. After completion of this course\, learners will be able to apply the technical factors as part of the area designations process. \nIt is recommended\, but not required\, that learners complete the course BASC110-SI: Introduction to the National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) and the module “What are Area Designations?” before taking this module. This course is comprised of two modules: \nModule 1: Overview of the Process and Timeline for Area Designations\nAfter completion of this module\, learners will be able to explain the process and timeline for designating areas under the Clean Air Act. Specifically\, learners will be able to:\n\nIdentify some of the Clean Air Act (CAA) requirements for the area designations process\,\nExplain tribal participation in the area designations process\,\nExplain the public’s role in the area designations process\, and\nExplain each of the milestones for the area designations process.\n\nModule 2: Area Designations Factor Analysis\nAfter completion of this module\, learners will be able to apply the area designations factor analysis to identify potential boundaries for a nonattainment area. This module is structured into five factor-specific lessons. Each lesson provides context for each factor to prepare the learner to then apply a scenario at the end of the lesson. The module concludes with a “weight-of-evidence” lesson\, where the learner synthesizes the information that has been applied through each factor-specific lesson. Lastly\, this module includes a “real world examples” section and a “helpful resources” section\, both of which include links to further information. Learning objectives for this module are as follows: \nIntroduction lesson:\n\nDescribe the purpose of the area designations factor analysis\, and\nIdentify the historical five factors used for the area designations factor analysis.\n\nAir quality data factor lesson:\n\nExplain how assessment of monitoring data is used in the air quality data factor analysis\,\nExplain how exceptional events can affect the air quality data factor analysis\, and\nApply the air quality data factor\, given an example scenario.\n\nEmissions and emissions-related data factor lesson:\n\nExplain how the emissions and emissions-related data factor analysis helps aid with defining the nonattainment area boundaries\,\nDefine the emissions and emissions-related data factor analysis\,\nDescribe the three main categories of data used for the emissions and emissions-related data factor analysis\, and\nApply the emissions and emissions-related data factor\, given an example scenario.\n\nMeteorology factor lesson:\n\nExplain why meteorology data are used for area designations\,\nDescribe the tools used for evaluating meteorology data\, and\nApply the meteorology factor\, given an example scenario.\n\nGeography/topography factor lesson:\n\nExplain why geography/topography data are used for area designations\, and\nApply the geography/topography factor\, given an example scenario.\n\nJurisdictional boundaries factor lesson:\n\nExplain what the jurisdictional boundaries factor is used for\,\nList examples of jurisdictional boundaries\,\nExplain consideration of tribal jurisdiction\, and\nApply the jurisdictional boundaries factor\, given an example scenario.\n\nWeight-of-evidence lesson:\n\nApply weight-of-evidence to decide upon a recommended nonattainment area boundary.\n\n\nClick the website link (on the right) to register  ——>\n  \nAirKnowledge
