Air Transport of Radioactive Materials (IATA/DOT) Online Training
June 18 - December 31| $525
This e-learning course is designed to provide initial introduction and review of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and U.S. Department of Transportation’s (DOT) regulations governing the safe air transportation of radioactive materials in an easy, self-paced format. The web-based training includes detailed information relating to the definitions, calculations and requirements for the shipment of radioactive materials by air. Practical exercises are utilized that allow participants to apply the concepts of the training as it is being discussed. Handouts will be provided in PDF for easy download to facilitate completing the course.
This course is especially effective as either an introduction for a new or inexperienced shipper, or as a thorough review for experienced shippers who desire refresher training to satisfy their IATA DGR & DOT 49 CFR HazMat Employee air modal function-specific training requirements. The information is presented assuming participants are knowledgeable of the US domestic shipping regulations for radioactive materials and concentrates on the additional air requirements and differences. AAHP has awarded eight (8) CEUs for this class.
The IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) is not provided and must be purchased from another source. Please have a copy of the IATA DGR available to successfully complete this online training.
Successful participants receive a certification stating that the training meets the requirements of 49 CFR 172 Subpart H and IATA DGR Section 1.5. Successful completion is achieved with a passing score of 80% or better on all 3 module exams.
